Injured officer’s road to recovery

When her son became a cop, Barbara Wurst tried not to think of all the terrible things that could happen to him.

But what brought two somber police officers to her doorstep in early hours of Dec. 27 was a scenario she had never imagined.

My husband Steve retired in 2007 due to a work related stroke in 2005. He was a VA State Police Master Trooper. Steve can't work any more. He spends his time collecting police patches and attending the Masonic Lodge. He miss work a lot. Cindy
